First Holy Communion is Sunday April 22, 2012 at the 8:30 a.m. Mass for children in 2nd grade. If your child is a 2nd grader and would like to receive First Communion at Holy Rosary, please phone the Rectory at 216-421-2995. with the name of your child making First Communion and fill out a registration form (see link above).  All parish families with 2nd grade children are welcome to participate in Holy Rosary Parish preparation.
 
First Communion Sessions are highlighted in yellow in the PSR schedule below. Children preparing to receive First Communion from the Atriums/Parish school of Religion and the Montessori School at Holy Rosary are expected to attend both Atrium and First Communion Sessions. The children are provided a snack during Atrium and a simple lunch at the beginning of First Communion Preparation.

JANUARY:  1 - No Atrium
  8 - Epiphany Celebration in Church at 11:00 am--Plan to Attend. Mass followed by a reception in the Church Hall--Mass and celebration are an Atrium session.

  29 - Atrium; First Communion Preparation for parents and children, Session II. Parents and children need to attend from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 
   
FEBRUARY: 4 - Confirmation Retreat - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  - Atrium ; First Communion Preparation for parents and children, Session III. Parents and children need to attend from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm.
  12 - Atrium;  First Communion Preparation for parents and children from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm Session IV; Confirmation Practice, Prayer and Penance 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. 
  19 - Atrium 9:30 to 10:30--early dismissal to attend 11:00 a.m. Mass & CONFIRMATION  Sacrament of Confirmation at 11:00 Mass

 APRIL: 1 - Atrium (Palm Sunday)
  5 - Holy Thursday Mass at 7:30 p.m. First Communicants are invited to sit together in front of Church and participate in the Eucharistic procession. Please arrive by 7:15 p.m. and sit in the first pew on the Tabernacle side.
  6 - Good Friday, Outdoor Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. (gather inside Church)
  7 - Easter Vigil Mass at 9:30 p.m.
  8 - No Atrium -- EASTER
  15 - Atrium 
  20 - First Communion Retreat Day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with Mass at 12:15 p.m. and Penance at 1:45 p.m. Parents welcome.
  21 - First Communion Retreat Day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by practice in the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. All First Communion Children and at least one parent/grandparent must attend the one hour practice with Father Previte. Adults may meet the children in Church at 1:30 p.m.
  22 First Communion Mass at 8:30 a.m. Plan to attend.  This is a community celebration and is part of Atrium today. Reception after Mass in the Church Hall-- followed by Mystagogy for the children on the 3rd floor of the school building at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m.
  29 - Atrium
   
 MAY: 06 - Atrium
  13 - Atrium & May Crowning - end of the year session.

Atrium begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m. The celebration of Mass at Holy Rosary: Saturday (Vigil Mass) at 5:00 pm; Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.  Young Children are in the best of humor and concentrate optimally between the hours of 8:30 am and 11:30 am. Attending the 8:30 am Mass followed by Atrium facilitates the child’s concentration and attention. Please consider this option for your child.
